Content without JavaScript: what do AI crawlers see?
Group B6 pointsrubric r1
We take the raw HTML of your homepage, strip scripts and styles, and count the visible text. We also detect empty React, Next, Vue and Nuxt mounting divs.
Why it matters
Most AI crawlers read HTML as delivered and do not execute scripts. On a client-rendered site they see an empty <div id="root"></div> and a noscript warning, so the agent has nothing to quote. This is the heaviest check in the rubric: 1000 or more characters of raw text scores 6, 300 or more scores 3, and a JS shell scores 0.
How to fix it
- Render the page on the server: use SSR or static generation in Next.js, Nuxt, Astro or SvelteKit.
- Put the headline, intro and key facts in the first HTML response, not in a fetch after load.
- Remove
<noscript>banners that say JavaScript is required. - Prerender marketing pages if the app itself must stay client-side.
How to verify
Run curl -s https://example.com/ | sed "s/<[^>]*>//g" | wc -c and expect well over 1000 characters.
