llms.txt checker: is your file valid?
Group B5 pointsrubric r1
We fetch /llms.txt and check it is non-empty and not HTML, then check for an H1 line starting with # and at least one Markdown link.
Why it matters
llms.txt is a short Markdown index written for language models. Without it an agent has to guess which pages matter from navigation HTML. A file that exists earns 3 points; the extra 2 require the H1 title and a Markdown link list, because a file without them is not a usable index. A 200 response that returns your HTML homepage does not count.
How to fix it
- Create
/llms.txtat the site root and serve it astext/plainortext/markdown. - Start with an H1:
# Your Site Name. - Add a one-line summary as a blockquote:
> What the site offers. - List key pages as links under H2 sections:
- [Pricing](https://example.com/pricing): plans and limits. - Make sure unknown paths do not fall back to the HTML homepage with status 200.
How to verify
Run curl -s https://example.com/llms.txt | head -5 and confirm it begins with # .
