We look in the homepage HTML for script tags of type application/ld+json. One or more blocks pass this check.
Why it matters
Without JSON-LD an agent infers your company name, product and prices from page text, and it can pick the wrong sentence. JSON-LD states them as named fields. This check only counts blocks; whether they parse is graded under the next check and the types you use are graded under C3 to C6.
How to fix it
- Add
<script type="application/ld+json">to the<head>or body of the homepage. - Put it in the HTML your server returns, not in a script that injects it after load.
- Start with an Organization or WebSite object that has
@contextand@type. - Use a plugin or template to generate it, so it stays in sync with your content.
How to verify
Run curl -s https://example.com/ | grep -c "application/ld+json" and expect 1 or more.
